Bringing Hope to the Himalayas
Our partners mission is to unite artisans in the developing world with global markets. Their bags are 100% handmade using handspun and handwoven cotton. Each bag is printed with wooden blocks carved by hand and the design is pressed on to the fabric helping to revive an ancient traditional art form that is native to India.
Preserving a Cultural Tradition
Our partner is a social enterprise that supports Maasai women by collaborating with them to create and market high-end beaded jewelry based on traditional beading techniques that are infused with modern aesthetics. Their jewelry is created entirely by hand using ingeniously upcycled products such as traditional glass beads, thread salvaged from old grain bags and enhanced with recycled metal beads, old canisters and yoghurt pots.
Baskets With Meaning + Purpose
Baskets carry their own symbolism in Rwanda and Uganda because friends give them to celebrate major life events such as weddings, birth and graduations. They are proudly displayed as symbols of wealth of friends, family and life. Our partner focuses on fighting poverty and restoring hope to marginalized in East Africa through economic opportunity.
Our partner works with artisans throughout the world combining timeless design with traditional skills and natural materials. Whether its the maker's distinctive style, the character of the piece, or the inspiration behind its origins, there's always more to tell than the meets the eye.
Fair Trade + Earth Friendly
Handmade in India on the principles of fair trade and equal opportunity using recycled glass and metal. Recycled glass requires 30% less energy to melt when compared with raw material. Using less energy means less fuel is burnt and less emissions. Our partner aims to promote and develop the traditional skills of artisans who have astounding skill but challenging living standards and restricted opportunities.
