Black Buslo Bag
Handmade by artisans in the Philippines, where an informal cottage industry of rug-weavers grew from women who found their means of earning by scavenging through dumpsters for scrap pieces of fabric and turn them into handcrafted rugs and rags that they would sell. In six years, they have trained over 900 artisans across communities in Metro Manila and continue to expand.
Hand woven from upcycled cloth, organic materials and indigenous fabrics. With every item purchased with us, a tree is planted in partnership with the National Forest Foundation.
|The weaving technique used to create this bag has been utilized for generations in the Philippines. Artists take strips of fabric, knot them together, and weave them using a simple wooden frame with perfectly calibrated nails. Why is it special? Because the technique produces the smallest possible knot that is still strong and secure.|
