Handmade by women artisans in Uganda where they earn an income that enables them to provide for their families. Each artisan attends a five year program that provides counseling, health education, finance training and business mentorship.
Handmade using recycled paper. With every item purchased with us, a tree is planted in partnership with the National Forest Foundation.
Making paper beads is a traditional craft that dates back as far as the Victorian age. The women of the house would gather to make beads from scraps of wallpaper that were rolled on knitting needles. They would then polish the beads with bees wax and string them on to long pieces of yarn. The long strands of beads then became room dividers for their homes.
