Dhaka Weave Yoga Pillow
Our not-for-profit partner employs artisans who have had leprosy or polio, who have other disabilities, or who are socially disadvantaged. They offer free medical treatment to artisans and provide handicraft skills that can lead to financially sustainable jobs, important in a society where people with leprosy are often shunned and forced to beg. Artisans receive free day-care and schooling up to grade 12 for their children.
Stuffed with organic buckwheat opposed to animal or synthetic fibers. With every item purchased with us, a tree is planted in one of the U.S. National Parks.
|Dhaka patterns are as meaningful as they are unique, with each design carrying with it the history and stories of the Nepali people. Each design is created by hand using looms of wood and bamboo and from memory, without charts of patterns.|
