New Frontier Earrings

$ 19.00

In 1995 Claytone Ombasyi started OTIC in Nairobi, Kenya. They provide export, packaging and quality control support for a number of small workshops in and around Nairobi. Depending on their circumstances, these small groups provide a variety of advantages to their artisans. Some offer training in wood carving, while others provide short–term, no interest loans.
Made with ethically-sourced horn. With every item purchased with us, a tree is planted in partnership with the National Forest Foundation.
The first horn adornments were derived when hunters believed that wearing trophies would bring them good luck for the next hunt.
With colors ranging from nearly colorless to deep rich browns, horn can be carved and formed easily and has been prized for centuries gaining in popularity during the Art Nouveau period.
