Zagora Candle Holder
Handmade in India on the principles of fair trade and equal opportunity. Our partner aims to promote and develop the traditional skills of artisans, who have astounding skills but challenging living standards and restricted opportunities bringing their work to new markets. They believe in open dialogue with their artisans in a safe, positive, fun and enjoyable environment.
Handmade from recycled glass.Recycled glass requires 30% less energy to melt when compared with raw material. Using less energy means less fuel is burnt and less emissions. With every item purchased with us, a tree is planted in partnership with the National Forest Foundation.
Shipwrecked Phoenician sailors are said to have discovered glass when they built cooking fires on a sandy beach. Throughout history, the basic knowledge and techniques of glass blowing have been highly coveted and held sacred by only a select few. During the 1st Century A.D., Phoenician glassworkers were forbidden from traveling, although those who escaped spread the art form into present day Switzerland, France, and Belgium.
